Dr Rishi Mehra is a staff specialist anaesthetist at the Alfred Hospital.
He trained through the Austin Hospital in Melbourne and completed a cardiothoracic anaesthesia fellowship in Canada under Dr Davy Cheng and Dr John Murkin. He has returned to Australia and commenced public practice at the Alfred Hospital.
His interests include cardiothoracic, trauma and neuroanaesthesia as well as perioperative medicine.
He was the co-convenor of the perioperative medicine short course from 2009-2012 and convenor of the short course from 2014-2015. In addition, he has been a previous unit coordinator for POM5001 and involved in teaching at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
He is co-editor of the department textbook entitled "Perioperative Medicine for the Junior Clinician".
